The Seven Principles of Man

Annie Besant

Annie Besant’s “The Seven Principles of Man” was written in 1909 and has long been recognized as an authoritative introduction to the Theosophical model of the visible and invisible aspects of ourselves.

Yes, we all operate at 7 levels

We’re all familiar with the physical body and to some people the physical body is the whole self.

It is, however, a bit more complicated than that and can be a bit of a shock for those who identify too closely with the physical self.

Our physical body represents only the visible manifestation of ourselves on the physical plane of nature. There are six other planes of nature and we are all represented on each one. To put in an appearance we have a body or principle corresponding to each plane. Anne Besant now takes you through the seven aspects that we all have.

Intoduction  The Dense Physical Body   The Etheric Double

Prana, The Life  The Desire Body  Manas, The Thinker, or Mind

The Quaternary, Or Four Lower Principles

Subtle Forms of The Fourth and Fifth Principle

The Higher Manas  Âtma – Buddhi, The Spirit  Manas in Activity

The Monad in Evolution  Lines of Proof for  an Untrained Enquirer
